This Community Solutions Initiative was part of the Arkansas Campaign for Grade-Level Reading and funded by the Winthrop Rockefeller Foundation from 2013-2014. It launched Feed Your Brain (FYB), Alimenta Tu Cerebro and expanded Parents Taking Leadership Action, Padres Tomando Liderazgo en Acción (PTLA).

The goals of the campaign were to increase grade-level reading by third grade, increase parent-community engagement, reduce chronic absenteeism and summer learning loss, and to make reading a part of the home culture. These two programs have since expanded and serve families at multiple schools in Springdale and three Fayetteville Housing Authority locations.
